Mobara fended off competition from teammate Mpho Makola and Supersport United midfielder Teboho Mokoena to claim the award at the PSL awards held at the Sandton Convention Centre on Monday.

The Pirates midfielder admits that he would like to improve certain areas of his game during the 2017-18 season.

“I am happy to receive this award as it is a testament to the hard work I have been putting in all year but I still believe there’s still more I can do and I plan to do so in the new season,” Mobara said at the PSL awards.

Despite, the Buccaneers disappointing season, Mobara was one of the few players to produce consistent performances throughout the season, having racked up 27 appearances while netting two goals in the process.
