Jurgen Klopp’s team were looking to bounce back from their defeat against Manchester United and they got off to the perfect start. It was the Reds’ talisman, Mohamed Salah, who opened the scoring on four minutes. The Egyptian received the ball from Sadio Mané and let loose a right-footed shot from the right side of the box and watched the ball arrow into the bottom-right corner of the goal.

Liverpool were in control and extended their lead just on 43 minutes. It was Salah again, this time an Andrew Robertson cross found the winger in the box who made no mistake with his close-range finish, 2-0 at the break.

The home side picked up in the second half where they left off in the first. Salah this time turned provider as he found Roberto Firmino, leaving the Brazilian with an easy finish from close range, 3-0 after 49 minutes.

Watford then went close to pulling a goal back when Roberto Pereyra (Watford) hit the bar with a long-range free kick.

Salah then sealed his hat-trick on 77 minutes. Liverpool’s leading goal scorer received the ball from Mane and his left-footed shot from the centre of the box flew into the bottom-left corner.

Soon it was 5-0 and no prize for guessing who the scorer was. On 85 minutes, Salah got his fourth of the night, his left-footed shot from the centre of the box flew high into centre of the goal.

Liverpool with a comfortable home win, gaining a vital three points in the race for a top-four finish.
