The Chilean national team had the ball in the back of the net on the stroke of half time, however the Video Assistant Referee judged to have ruled that Eduardo Vargas was offside.
La Roja eventually broke the deadlock in the 80th minute when Arturo Vidal rose well to head home a cross by Alexis Sanchez to make it 0-1.
However, Chile all but sealed the win in stoppage time, as Vargas found the back of the net with a finish from close range, after Sanchez was denied by the Cameroon shot-stopper.
