SA defender Ntlhe joins Rochdale
- Updated: July 28, 2017

English side Rochdale United have signed South African defender Kgosi Ntlhe on a free transfer from League Two side Stevenage.
The 23-year-old, who made 24 appearances for Stevenage last season, has now put pen to paper on a two-year-deal with the League One side.
Ntlhe impressed head coach Keith Hill during his trial period where he made appearances against FC Halifax, Middlesbrough and Barnsley during their pre-season.
The former Peterborough United defender says he has been loving his time at the club, despite a ‘tough’ start to life at his new club.
“I’m very happy. I’ve been here for a few weeks now, training with the boys. At first, it was quite tough, but now I’m used to it and I’m really enjoying my time here,” Ntlhe told the clubs official website.
He revealed that one of the main reason for joining the club was the manager, who he always admired.
“I’ve been wanting to work with him for a very long time and he’s a very good manager,” he added.
“He’s demanding. He never lets you rest. He’s always on your back and I think that’s what most players need.
“I’m happy to come back and play in League One, especially for the Gaffer, because I’ve been wanting to play for him for a few years now, and I’m glad to have that chance.”
Over the course of his career, Ntlhe has netted five goals and assisted a further five from 113 appearances in all competitions playing for the likes of Peterborough United, St Albans City and Stevenage.
