    Bafana Bafana held by Seychelles

Bafana Bafana extended their unbeaten streak in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign after playing to a disappointing 0-0 draw against Seychelles on Tuesday afternoon.

Stuart Baxter’s men went into the clash with their tails up after securing a record 6-0 victory against the same side at the FNB Stadium over the weekend.

Despite large spells of dominance throughout the clash, the visitors failed to muster a goal and will be disappointed to share the spoils with the minnows.

    Player Ratings:

    Itumeleng Khune – 7/10

It proved another quiet day at the office for the Kaizer Chiefs shot-stopper, who was actually put under more pressure this time – particularly in the opening exchanges of the clash.

    Ramahlwe Mphahlele – 6.5/10

Had a solid game in all aspects. Didn’t do as much attacking as he did at the FNB Stadium, however he needs to work on his crossing.

    Thulani Hlathswayo – 7/10

Kept it simple and did well too thwart the threat of the Seychelles attack with his physicality and robust style of play.

    Buhle Mkhwanazi -6/10

Formed an excellent partnership with Tyson in the heart of the defence and showed his excellent reading of the game, making a number of timely tackles.

    Sifiso Hlanti- 6/10

Solid game in both attack and defence. Whipped in a number of telling crosses to the area,  which was not capitalised upon.

    Dean Furman – 6/10

He was everywhere in midfield and was largely responsible for breaking up the opposition play. The SuperSport captain almost grabbed a skate winner with a stunning long range effort.

    Kamohelo Mokotjo 6.5/10

Showed his composure on the ball and his excellent ability to destroy play, but lacked that much needed bite in the final third. Often, sat too deep.

    Lebohang Maboe – 5/10

He had a better first half than he did a second and was part of numerous attacks going forward, but struggled with his final ball into the area. Was replaced by Modibain the second half.

    Percy Tau – 5/10

Tau was a livewire for South Africa on the right flank, who got better with time as the game went on. Much like in the first game, the former Mamelodi Sundowns star formed a dangerous attacking duo with Mothiba upfront. Both players were guilty of missing easy chances.

    Lebogang Mothiba – 5/10

Mothiba had the best chances of the game to hand Bafana the win, but failed to bury his efforts in front of goal under no pressure.

    Dino Ndlovu – 7/10

The striker made his physical presence known on the pitch a displaying his quality and versatility by setting up a few chances in the final third. Came close to scoring a second goal in two games for the national team.

    Aubrey Modiba – 4/10

Could have been the hero for South Africa following his introduction for Lebogang Maboe in the second-half, however the SuperSport United man squandered the best two opportunities of the game.
