Manyama: We’re going to benefit from McCarthy
- Updated: June 15, 2017

Cape Town City captain Lebogang Manyama says he is excited about the prospect of working under newly appointed head coach Benni McCarthy.
The 26-year-old recently returned from national team duty with Bafana Bafana, having scored his first goal for them during their 2-1 defeat against Zambia in an international friendly on Tuesday.
Manyama says he is looking forward to the chance of working under McCarthy as the club prepares for the 2017-18 Absa Premiership season.
“Firstly, I would like to welcome coach Benni,” Manyama told Cape Town City’s media.
“I think it’s very exciting, obviously, for the team to get a manager like Benni to lead us because he is a person that has so much knowledge about football to share.
“I’m very happy that we are going to be the team to benefit from that.”
The Bafana Bafana forward, who finished the 2016-17 campaign as the PSL’s top scorer with 14 goals, insists that the Champions League winner will have his full backing, and of the rest of the squad.
“It’s not going to be easy, but one thing I can assure him is that we are all in it with him all the way. Welcome to the Cape Town City FC family coach Benni, all the best,” he concluded.
