• We can’t be satisfied – Mphahlele

    Ramahlwe Mphahlele of Kaizer Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs defender Ramahlwe Mphahlele says his side cannot be satisfied with how far they have come as they have not achieved anything.

The Glamour Boys currently sit seventh in the Absa Premiership standings with 37 points after 26 games, 13 points off of log leaders Orlando Pirates at the summit of the table.

Ernst Middendorp’s side will also have a chance to and their trophy drought after reaching the Nedbank Cup semi-finals following their 2-0 victory over Cape Town City in the quarter-final.

Mphahlele admits that Amakhosi continue to improve under the German tactician, but their whole campaign rides on whether or not they can claim silverware at the end of the season

‘We are getting better under the new coach, but we should just continue working hard as a team and build from here,’ said Mphahlele.

‘We can’t be satisfied; we haven’t achieved anything yet. We don’t just want to be good; we want to be great.

‘We want to win something and then we can put the trophy on the table and say, ‘Okay, we’ve done well.’

‘But if we don’t have anything to show for it, then we haven’t done well.’

Kaizer Chiefs will now travel to the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium when they take on Chippa United in the Nedbank Cup semi-final on Saturday with kick off set for 8:15pm.
