Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly wants to leave the club, following allegations by Spanish tax authorities of evading taxes.

The former Manchester United man is the subject of a lawsuit brought forward by Spanish prosecutors, accusing the four-time Ballon d’Or winner of avoiding £14.7m in tax – a charge which Ronaldo has subsequently denied.

The Portugal international captain is facing four counts of tax fraud relating to image rights payments, and despite his club coming out with an official statement publicly backing the 32-year-old, the player is said to be infuriated by the treatment by authorities, prompting him to want out of the club.

Ronaldo previously spoke of his dissatisfaction at sections of the Madrid faithful who whistle at him, and  has been linked with a return to former club Manchester United.

Ronaldo, who is currently in Russia with the national team for the Confederations Cup, has reportedly informed his countrymen of his desire to leave Los Blancos.

”I am leaving Real Madrid,” according to quotes in Marca.

”I have made a decision. There is no turning back,” he said.

Ronaldo signed a new five-year contract with the La Liga champions in November 2016.
